Love your avatar.

And Duchene would likely fit between Tangs and Iggy a little nicer.

Two first round picks, a scoring forward and prospect and you might be able to have him.

Price too high? He's only our franchise center. That won't come cheap.

•The Fourth Period: Avalanche forward Paul Stastny could be in the Kings list of possible trade targets.

“(The Kings) healthy scratched Dustin Penner and put two rookies (Dwight King and Jordan Nolan) playing their first NHL game this season with Mike Richards against the Islanders, looks like they’ve hit the panic button to me,” an NHL insider said Saturday evening. “I know Statsny is a center, but so is Jeff Carter and Paul only has two years left on his deal and there are zero concerns with his attitude.”

The Avalanche could use Stastny to rebuild their defense and to add depth at forward. A source added if they could get Jack Johnson in a package, they look long and hard at a deal. Stastny has a $6.6 million cap hit through 2013-14.

i cut and paste this from another website - very interesting, what do you folks think?

He's a speedy first line center, with a great shot, outstanding vision and he's only 21.

That's no available on every street corner.

It's an interesting thought, but I don't see how it actually happens. Do the Avs really need to be trading a Top 6 player for another defenseman? I could see if it were for (Insert High Paid Top 6 winger here), but not defense when we already have 7 or 8 pro ready players with a few D prospects ready soon. As frequently brought up on here we need wingers

I agree, it was sarcasm. I would love him on the Flames.

I've seen enough of Jack Johnson to know I don't want him. I don't know what I'd rather have but Stastny isn't really a fit in LA, too similar to Kopitar and the Avs don't need more defense.

It's intriguing but the deal doesn't really work for either side.

Yeah I know and that would be terrible. Avs get killed by the Flames as it is.

Duchene will almost certainly start on the third line. If for no other reason than to slowly work him back into game shape; and as Aaron pointed out, no reason to break up the top two lines while they're actually playing like it (St. Louis game notwithstanding).

Is JJ an upgrade over pending RFA Quincey or Wilson? how about pending UFA O'Brien.

Lets face it, the AVS only have a few untouchables (Duchene, Landeskog, O'Reilly) everyone else on this roster should be used as trade bait to IMPROVE the team. I have no problem in giving up Elliot or Barrie, but not for 1st round draft picks, they would have to be for a player that has an immediate impact as well as a few years left of good service. They need another Mueller type player, he made an immediate impact and still has his entire career left.

Who this player is, I dont know, thats why im blogging and not a GM - LOL

I like him and he's certainly better than any Center Buffalo has but if I'm picking and choosing he's on the 2nd tier of players I'd look at if I was making moves.

This spawns from a deal last year around the deadline that was Stastny, galli and a mid level pick to LA for JJ, bernier and stoll. At the time it made sense, however it doesn't make as much sense now.

Its all good, because there most likely isn't anything from buffalo that the avs would have much use for anyways.

Duchene is having an off year, but if you put him in the right system then he has the skill to reach 80-90 points in his career. He just needs to find some line mates that he can build chemistry with because porter and winnik are not the players that will make it happen.

Even though I don't want semin, there is no arguing that him and duchene would be a good fit.

I actually like Quincey better than Jack Johnson. Quincey might not have the shot but Johnson has times where he just stops thinking and makes really bad decisions. His effort has been knocked a lot as well.

Besides the Avs have their six of the future, just have to let it continue to grow.

Try sending down David Van Der Guilt and call up Mark Olvier (they had good chemestry last season) then you slide McClement down to the 4th line center.

Jones - Stastney - Hedujk
Landdy - O'Rilley - Muller
Gally - Duchane - Oliver
Winnik - McClement - Mcloud/Kobsew

they well eventully have to get another scoring winger!
